Framed behind glass, as an artifact in a museum, it alludes to the desire to halt time and preserve memories.With a doctorate in social psychology, Chantal Powell’s work concerns the universal emotions that connect us as human beings, in particular our response to beauty and melancholy. Employing an aesthetic that engages us as a form of visual poetry, she crafts works that invites intimacy and personal involvement.
